That's a big factor when you're playing, as it would be with an actual version of "The World". But the reason BroodWar drops you (not when you lag out, that's different) is because the server(s) for the gateway you're on have too many people logging on, creating games, playing, chatting, the list goes on. It's too much for the server to handle. With The World, there would be hundreds upon thousands upon millions (hopefully ^^) of people playing, which would lead to unmentionable ammounts of bandwidth (bandwidth eats money =\).
