UdeDen anime ponderings...
UdeDen anime ponderings...
A thought hit me... Perhaps there was something more planned for UdeDen and the season got cut short. That happens to a lot of series for one reason or another. I can name several (FF:U being my favorite that it has happened to) anime series that have met that same, tragic fate.
What do you guys think?

Well, I like UdeDen a lot, but I'll admit it wasn't half as good as SIGN. I doubt it was cut short - There wasn't really a whole lot you could do with those characters. They had little to no background information, unlike the characters in SIGN where you figure out little by little about each character. The manga is probably different, I've never read it for myself, but the anime probably wasn't ment from the start to go anywhere ...

I hope that I do get my hands on the manga as well :/ Either it be scans and translated,or possibly brought over here...which that will be a very long while before that ever happens.And I am kinda confused about how Ouka came to be,y'know? They never really say that much about her history,only as to what Mileiyu knows.
Oh, they had the characters, they just weren't characterized enough. More like... sterotyped. Shugo being the goofy, newbie main character; Rena being the... sister who's there; Mireille being the hyper-cute girl; Ouka being the badass chick; Blamung being the badass dude; Sanjuro being the... er... old(er) guy who's wise and informational, Hotaru being the sweet quiet girl... the list goes on. I mean, everybody's like they are because of a reason. They explained that in SIGN, but in UdeDen, there's just... them.They sure needed more characters though
If anything, 6 or 7 is good. Perfect. Too many characters is not a good thing.

Of the many differences between the two shows I think the biggest one was th audience that they were aimed at. Sign is pretty subtle and seems to be more for the older people, especially since the younger ones wouldnt really understand everything. That doesnt mean little kids shouldnt watch it, but they wont get as much out of it as an older kid or an adult. Dusk is not as subtle with how they do things, but the show is still slightly confusing. I think that Dusk is lacking in the symbolism department after all the symbolism in sign.
P.S. I broke 100!

How I see it, I enjoyed UdeDen a lot because I expected it to be a silly, humorous romp, which it ended up being. It's a lot of fun, in my eyes, and... just sickeningly adorable at times. n.n
However, I don't think the production staff had any intention to do anything really big with it.... But I do have the feeling that there is an odd chance that they had to cut it short. I could actually find out somewhere. I just don't feel like exherting the effort right now. n.n;;
